Statue of Liberty

Daily 8:30am - 6pm
Liberty Island, New York City, New York, 10004

The Basics

Statue of Liberty tours start with a scenic ferry ride to the island, where you can explore the grounds or head to the famed 10-story-high observation pedestal to see the original torch. From there, enjoy great views and photo ops of the New York City skyline and neighboring New Jersey. You can also secure tickets to the crown but be prepared to climb 354 steeply winding steps to the top.

Guided tours feature live narration and historical insight, while informative audio tours explore the construction and restoration of the monument. The monument is also a highlight on New York Harbor cruises, city helicopter tours, and waterfront walking tours.

Great memories in NYC
What an amazing experience! Justin - our tour guide - was knowledgeable, pleasant, funny and patient. My kids and I had a wonderful experience and would recommend this tour (with Justin) to everyone. Allow yourself extra time to help explore Liberty and Ellis island. Book your tickets for the Crown at the Statue of Liberty weeks in advance

Beautiful Boat

Statue of Liberty and New York City Skyline Sightseeing Cruise
I’ve been on many sight seeing cruises in the area throughout the years and this was by far my favorite. I had a friend visiting and wanted do do something nice where she could see the sights, especially Statue of Liberty. The boat was beautiful and clean, and the staff were so nice. They had various beverage options and small bites to choose from for purchase. The y even offer a complimentary drink! I will definitely be doing this again in the summer.

Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island Tour: All Options
Meeting point was easy, boats were over crowded. Didn’t sit down once while travelling on the boats. Felt sorry for family’s with small children or disabled people cause it was terrible. The tour guild was great well informative and interesting and both the Statue of Liberty and Ellis island was clean easy to get around and interesting.

Early Access: First on the Island Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island
We had a wonderful guide, Christian, that shared history, knowledge, and brought the site alive, and an occasional joke too. Plenty of time was allotted for the statue of liberty and Ellis Island, however we had plans following this tour that meant time on Ellis Island was limited, Plan to stay longer if you want to do some research and receive the full benefit of the visit.

New York City Statue of Liberty Super Express Cruise
Seeing the Statue of Liberty up close was amazing. The guide on the trip was very informative, and even took photos of us so that we could all get in. The water was a bit choppy but apart from that everything else was good.

When to Get There

Summertime crowds can be intense, so the earlier you arrive at Battery Park for the first few departing ferries, the better. Booking priority-access tickets in advance is a helpful way to maximize your time. The first ferry to Liberty Island typically departs at 9:30am and the last departs at 3:30pm, with extended hours in summer and around the holidays.

Visiting Nearby Ellis Island

Many visitors choose to combine a Statue of Liberty tour with a visit to nearby Ellis Island; your ferry ticket includes access to both stops, and many guided tours offer a combination experience. Once there, visit the Ellis Island Immigration Museum to learn about the history of immigration in the United States.
