Antelope Canyon

Navajo Tribal Park, Page, Arizona, 86040

The Basics

Many travelers visit Antelope Canyon on photography tours to capture the colors and shapes of the canyon's sinuous walls or to spot local wildlife, such as the pronghorn antelope. Often, Antelope Canyon tours also visit Lake Powell or nearby Horseshoe Bend, a scenic viewpoint overlooking a curve in the Colorado River. Slot canyon tours from Flagstaff and Sedona typically include round-trip transportation. Other more comprehensive multi-day tours of the southwest depart from Las Vegas or the Grand Canyon National Park.

A must see! The cantelope canyon was breath taking, the guides took the most amazing photos, a great souvenir to take home. There were plenty of stops to break up the day. Would highly recommend for anyone who wants to see three landmarks in one day

Lower Antelope Canyon Ticket
Visited lower antelope canyon with my family and we had a great time here. The only disappointing part is that there wasn’t enough sunlight in Nov ending and some parts of the tour were too dark. Summer is probably better time to visit.

Upper Antelope Canyon Tour Ticket
We love our tour guide Latisha! Very knowledgeable and has great stories to tell from her grandfather in relation to the Upper Antelope Canyon. Coming from a family oriented culture, we can truly appreciate that. Love her photography skills as well. Our pictures turned out so beautiful! We appreciate her!

Antelope Canyon X Hiking Tour (with Option Upgrade to Photo Tour)
The canyon X tour was a great alternative to the other antelope canyon tours. They drove us into the area for about five minutes and guided us down to walk both north and south side of the canyon X. Great experience and would be back again.

Grand Canyon South Rim, Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend Day Tour from Las Vegas
Visited the three best spots from Las Vegas - Horseshoe Bend, Antelope Canyon X, and Grand Canyon South Rim. Our tour guides Steve and Noreen were the best. We never had a dull moment throughout our journey. They helped us with the best photo spots at each location and clicked excellent pictures. They also gave us adequate restroom breaks at frequent intervals so we could purchase snacks and stretch our legs.

Showed us all the best way to take great pictures, toke lovely photos of us (quite artsy) and knew a lot of words in many different language. I totally recommande this tour!

Things to Know Before You Go

  • This Navajo nation landmark can only be seen with an authorized tour guide.

  • Bring your camera and a tripod for long exposure shots—photography enthusiasts travel from all over to snap photos of Antelope Canyon.

  • The more popular of the two, Upper Canyon is easily walkable thanks to a level sandy surface but not easily accessible for wheelchair users.

  • Lower Canyon involves a longer walk that requires climbing metal staircases and is therefore totally inaccessible to wheelchair users.

When to Get There

Although the canyon is open year-round, many travelers consider March through October to be the best time to visit, mainly because of the favorable lighting conditions at that time of year. This lighting makes for a stellar display in the dark canyons, with the sun illuminating the cracks and crevices of the colorful canyon's red rock walls. Expect temperatures near 100°F (38°C) in summer.
